Location of Alma Vista Stud

Directions to Alma Vista Stud - Map of QueenslandAlma Vista Stud is located at Eidsvold in the Central Burnett region of Queensland, Australia. Eidsvold is approximately 2 hours drive west of Bundaberg and approximately 5 hours drive north of Brisbane, on the scenic Burnett Highway. It is a small, quiet, rural town with a population of around 900.

The main industry in Eidsvold Shire is cattle production due to the area being renowned for having some of the best cattle fattening land available in Queensland. Eidsvold claims to be the Beef Capital of the Burnett and during the 1960s had 3 major sale yards in operation.

Timber milling was a significant industry at one time but in recent years, this has been scaled down due to government restrictions. Eidsvold also has a colourful gold mining history dating back to 1887.

Alma Vista StudAlma Vista Stud is part of a small working beef cattle property which runs crossbred Santa Gertrudis cattle. With a total area of approximately 1,800 acres, 1,300 acres is predominantly gently undulating cleared bottle tree and brigalow scrub soil country, which ran dairy cattle until 1973. The remaining 500 acres is comprised of flat terrain forest country.

Our horses live in paddocks under constant supervision. They are regularly yarded for hoof trimming, worming, vaccinations etc. We ensure that paddock sizes enable the horses to have social interaction in herd situations as nature intended.
